The day after Christmas, Fr. Paolo and Fr. Michele led a group of 50 people, including 12 parishioners from Sacred Heart on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
The travelers spent three days in Galilee visiting the places where Jesus grew up and started his ministry. Then they traveled to Bethlehem in Judea where Jesus was born. They walked in the wilderness between Jerusalem and Jericho, in the area where Jesus was tempted by the devil after 40 days of fasting and prayer. In Jerusalem, they walked on the very stones that led Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the palace of Pilate and they touched the spot where the cross was raised and entered in the tomb where Jesus’ body was laid down after his death.
