The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that "from the beginning, the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic Sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God." (1032)
It is normal to offer a Mass soon after the passing of a loved one. Most Masses are requested following the one-month anniversary and then on other anniversaries. Masses can also be offered for the intention of a living person, just make sure you specify this when you place your order.
Arranging a Mass for a loved one is easy. You can pick up your Mass card in person by dropping by the Parish Office during the week (Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or Tuesday, or Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). Payment for the Mass can also be made using the form below but you still need to drop by the Parish Office to pick up your Mass card.
