Fr. Luis Hernandez was born in Madrid, Spain in 1975. He earned his Ph.D. in Anglo-American Literature at the Complutense Unversity in Madrid. Following graduation, he moved to Rome, Italy where he entered the seminary to become a priest. He continued his studies in philosophy and theology in the Vatican Latern University.
In 2005, he was ordained a priest in the Priestly Fraternity of the Missionaries of St. Charles Borromeo. He spent the next 15 years serving as Parish vicar and Pastor in three parishes in the outskirts of Lisbon (Portugal). During this time, he worked with young people, did parish work and other activities, such as: teaching at the Lisbon Catholic University, and regular visits to a reformatory, and providied spiritual leadership of the Movement Communion and Liberation. He was also a member of the board of cultural association meeting of Lisbon.
Fr. Luis if fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and Portuguese. He joined Sacred Heart Parish in December 2020 as Parish Vicar. He is also teaches Spanish at Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody.
